The Old Plantation – A Pineapple Rum Old Fashioned

As most cocktail enthusiasts know, the old fashioned is not simply limited to whiskey. This rum old fashioned uses a split base of Plantation Pineapple Rum along with their O.F.T.D. Overproof (69% ABV) Rum.

Rather than the traditional sugar cube, a rich demerara syrup is the sweetener. The combination of Scrappy’s Lime Bitters and Hella Cocktail Co.’s Ginger Bitters have this old fashioned dipping its toes in the sands of tiki territory.

The Plantation Pineapple and O.F.T.D are part of their Bar Classics collection which were created with the input of world-class industry leaders. If you’ve never had the Pineapple rum, I’d highly recommend picking up a bottle. The rum is made with the barks and fruit of real Victoria pineapples – a distinction which is apparent at first sip.
